History

Since 2007, community groups in cities around the world have begun to activate under-utilized building roof spaces as rooftop farms.

Rooftop farms can now be found in most major urban centres, such as New York, Johannesburg, Paris and Singapore. Although due to their position perched high above the street, most of these farms are not well known to local residents. Farms vary considerably in operational structure, in objectives and philosophy, as well as in nature of the growing media and the drops that are produced.
