Skyfarm is an innovative urban farm platform encouraging a paradigm shift from the conventional food model that is rural, disconnected and monoculture to an alternative contemporary approach: which is urban, connected and distributed. Introduction：
City Farm Tokyo is located on top of a giant shopping mall – DiverCity Tokyo Plaza. The farm aims to encourage urban dwellers witness how food grows as well as combat rising temperature in the city. Food production of the farm focuses on the Japanese kitchen. Crops include rice, egg plants and soybeans. The traditional semi-aquatic conditions for rice-growing requires different farming techniques, drainage and irrigation on the roof.

The farm also offers farm plot rental services as well as cultivational guidance to the participants.

Introduction
Japan Rail East started this vegetable garden business on Tokyo train stations out of a desire to contribute to the environmental maintenance and revitalize area along the train line. Now there are thirteen stations around the country with operating gardens. There are also plans to build community gardens on top of or near each stations in Japan soon. The farm is open to anyone, not matter if they’re skilled gardeners or not. People can rent a three-square meter garden which include tools and gardening equipment. The farms are popular recreational spaces for families.

Introduction:
The Dakakker is located on top of the Schieblock office building in the center of Rotterdam. The garden houses vegetables. herbs and bees, with the produce being distributed to local restaurants and in the future their own shop. The Dakakker functions as a test site to experiment with different ways of green-roofs and farming in the city, aiming to turn Downtown Rotterdam into a district that is a source of fresh produce for the neighborhood.
